Same-Day Fridge Removal in Singapore
Your compressor seized at 3am. The puddle under the door is spreading. And the new Samsung arrives at 2pm — except there's nowhere to put it because the dead unit is still blocking half the kitchen.
We've pulled failed fridges out of Singaporean homes and offices for over a decade. Hundreds of them. Single-door units wedged into HDB kitchens with barely 60cm clearance on either side. Double-door American-style monsters that won't fit back through the doorway they originally came in through. In our 10+ years doing this, one thing stays consistent: nobody calls about a fridge unless it's urgent.
Same-Day Is Possible — Not Promised
We won't guarantee a fixed arrival window. What we will do is tell you honestly, within minutes of seeing your photos, whether we can slot your job into today's schedule. Availability depends on crew location, current bookings, and how complex your access situation is.
Extra charges may apply for urgent same-day windows, after-hours requests, Sundays, or public holidays. We confirm everything upfront at the quote stage — no surprises when the crew arrives.
What Actually Determines Whether We Can Come Today
Urgency is one thing. Logistics are another. A few factors decide whether same-day is realistic for your specific fridge:
Weight and dimensions. A standard 300L top-freezer unit runs 60–70kg. A side-by-side can hit 120kg. Our crew of 2–4 handles both, but the heavier the unit, the more we need to plan the route from kitchen to vehicle.
HDB passenger lifts. Most HDB lifts measure roughly 1.5m deep by 1.1m wide. A standard fridge fits. A 900mm-wide side-by-side might need to go in at an angle. There's no service lift in HDB blocks — we work with what's there.
Condo and commercial buildings. If your MCST requires a service lift booking or lift padding, that's something you'll need to arrange with your building management ahead of our arrival. Some condos need 24–48 hours' notice for service lift access, which can push a same-day request to next-day. Check with your management office before confirming the slot with us.
Walk-up buildings or stairwell access. Surcharges apply. A 70kg fridge down four flights of narrow HDB stairwell is a different job from rolling one into a ground-floor lift lobby.
Prep Your Fridge So We Can Move Fast
The less time we spend dealing with water, ice, and loose parts, the faster the job goes:
- Unplug the unit as early as possible. Even two hours of defrost time helps.
- Leave the doors slightly ajar so ice melts faster and air circulates.
- Lay old towels around the base to catch meltwater — nobody wants a wet trail through the living room.
- Empty all contents. We're removing the fridge, not the expired chilli sauce collection inside it.
- If it's a plumbed-in water/ice dispenser, shut off the water supply valve behind the unit. Don't attempt to disconnect gas lines yourself on any appliance.
What Happens After Pickup
Fridges contain refrigerant gases (R134a, R600a, or older R12) that require specialist handling. We route collected units through licensed intermediaries equipped to recover these gases safely before the shell is recycled for scrap metal. We don't hold NEA licensing ourselves and we don't issue formal recycling certificates — but the unit doesn't end up dumped at a void deck. It goes through proper channels.
Quick Answers
Can you actually come today? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. WhatsApp us your photos and address — we'll confirm within minutes whether today's schedule has space. If not, next-day is usually achievable with standard notice.
What about built-in fridges? Integrated units behind cabinetry panels need to be disconnected from the housing first. If your renovation contractor hasn't freed it from the surround, let us know — we can extract it, but it takes longer and we'll factor that into the quote.
My HDB lift seems too narrow for the fridge. What then? We've moved fridges through lifts across every HDB town in Singapore. Angling, tilting on a dolly, removing fridge doors temporarily — these are standard techniques. If the unit genuinely cannot fit (rare, but it happens with oversized commercial-grade fridges in older blocks), stairwell carry is the fallback, with applicable surcharges.
