A massage chair is not regular furniture. Most models weigh between 70 kg and 120 kg, packed with steel roller tracks, electric motors, and an internal frame that makes the thing feel bolted to the floor. You cannot tip it on its side and slide it through a doorway the way you would with a normal armchair. On many models, the armrests or the powered footrest extension need to come off before the chair will clear a standard 800 mm HDB door frame. That's before you've even thought about the corridor, the lift, or the lorry.

What Actually Happens When We Remove a Massage Chair
Our crew arrives — typically three personnel for a massage chair, because the weight demands it. The first step is partial dismantling inside your home: detaching the footrest mechanism, removing the side panels or armrests where the design allows, and disconnecting the power cable. This reduces the width enough to navigate through doorways without gouging the frame.
From there, the chair is wrapped and carried to the vehicle. Where Does a Massage Chair End Up?
The steel frame, motors, and roller mechanisms inside a massage chair are valuable as scrap metal. We route these through licensed intermediaries who strip and sort the materials for recycling. Leather or synthetic upholstery that's still in reasonable condition may be channelled toward reuse where possible. Nothing usable gets sent straight to landfill if there's a better destination for it.
HDB or Condo — the Logistics Differ
HDB flats don't have a service lift. Your massage chair goes out through the same passenger lift everyone else uses, which means timing matters. Our crew works quickly to keep the shared corridor and lift clear. Town councils do offer bulky-item collection, but they require you to dismantle the item yourself first — not practical when you're dealing with 90 kg of motorised steel.
Condos and commercial buildings often require MCST approval before any bulky removal.
