You're handing back the office. The furniture's sorted, the IT equipment is boxed up, and then there's the safe. Bolted to the floor slab, concrete-filled, and weighing anywhere from 80 kg to well over 300 kg depending on the model. Nobody on your team is moving that with a hand trolley and good intentions.

What Actually Happens When We Remove a Safe

Office safes aren't hollow steel boxes. Most commercial models have a concrete orite composite poured between double-walled steel shells. That's what makes a 600mm-tall unit weigh as much as a fully loaded wardrobe.

Before we arrive, the safe must be open and completely empty. We don't handle locked safes with unknown contents, and we don't provide locksmith services. If you've lost the code, engage a locksmith first. Once it's empty and open, our crew takes over.

Floor-bolted safes require unbolting from the concrete slab. We bring the tools for that. Depending on the unit's weight, we'll deploy two to four crew members with heavy-duty trolleys and strapping rated for the load. For upper-floor offices in commercial buildings, the job is planned around the building's service lift capacity and the access window your management has approved.

One critical point: you need to arrange MCST or building management approval and any required lift booking before the pickup day. Where the building requires lift padding, that's provided by management as well. We'll confirm these logistics with you during the quoting conversation so there are no surprises.

Where the Safe Ends Up

A commercial safe is almost entirely scrap steel and concrete. Once removed, the steel shell is routed to scrap metal recyclers. The concrete fill is separated and directed through proper disposal channels. Nothing about an office safe is reusable in its original form — this is materials recovery, not resale. If your office decommissioning involves other heavy items alongside the safe, we clear them in the same trip.

HDB Home Safes

Some home offices in HDB flats have smaller fire safes. These still weigh 50–100 kg. HDB blocks don't have service lifts, so the unit goes down via the standard passenger lift. For walk-up blocks or situations where the lift can't accommodate the safe's dimensions, stairwell carry is possible — surcharges apply for stair work, confirmed at quote stage.

Condo and Commercial Buildings

Condos and CBD offices typically have stricter protocols. Service lift booking, designated loading bays, time-of-day restrictions — these vary building to building. Do you buy or offer trade-in value for office safes? No. We're a disposal service. Even high-end vault units have no resale market once they've been decommissioned. There's no buyback, trade-in credit, or payment for any items we collect. The value to you is having the thing gone, cleanly and on schedule.

Can you remove a safe that's still locked? The safe must be open and empty before we touch it. We don't carry locksmith tools and we won't transport a sealed unit with unknown contents. Engage a locksmith to open it first, clear out the contents, and then reach out to us.

How quickly can you schedule a safe removal? We work to the tightest window your job allows, subject to availability. Urgent requests can often be accommodated — additional charges may apply for after-hours or weekend pickups.
